Grammy Award-winning countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, star of Philip Glass's Akhnaten, presents his new book Countertenor, which traces his life, his artistic education and the history of his voice type. The book explores how countertenors inherited a repertoire written for castrati in the baroque period and have helped define contemporary opera for more than half a century. Co-sponsored by Princeton's Department of Music and Labyrinth Books; free and open to the public.
