Verity Platt, professor of Classics and History of Art at Cornell University and a 2026–27 Media & Meaning visiting fellow, gives a gallery talk on folds and folding in Greco-Roman art. Looking at marble, clay and bronze sculpture in the Museum's ancient Mediterranean galleries, she examines how drapery represents textiles, conveys ideologies and creates a sense of bodily presence.
