Elsie Sunderland, Fred Kavli Professor of Environmental Chemistry at Harvard, discusses PFAS, highly fluorinated synthetic chemicals now detected in virtually all Americans: what drives national drinking water quality, alternate exposure pathways, and how quickly levels respond to changes in production. She uses PFAS as a case study of the challenges of global chemical manufacturing and reactive regulation. Open to the public in person (members of the public RSVP to ccrosby@princeton.edu) and livestreamed.
